thank you for taking one for the team
even if you‘re propably innocent
and if not we‘re just overreacting
on some rules that you felt free to bent
we both know you‘re not dangerous
but I need to eat too
so I make money locking doors
of the cells where they‘ve put you
capitalist inbreed
profit penitentiary
prisons are humane haha
not as long as I am in charge
no dirty hands for me my friend
there are enough here to help me bent
your free will and your dignity
I‘ll send you on a raping spree
get you beaten everyday
you fucking punk will soon obey
As if prisons themselves weren’t bad enough, during the last years there has been a tendency to privatize them, which leads to the same neoliberal constrains, that every privatized sector experiences. That is a big problem, because this way the conditions of detention get worse, while at the same time there is more pressure on the guards, which leads to worse treatment of the prisoners. This can be well seen in Christian Parentis Article on institutionalized use of prison violence by guards. These indefensible conditions, get even worse, when prisons are privatized and therefore forced to make profit. Also these prisons need inmates, which leads to people (in the US mainly poor young black males) get locked up für minor delinquents. This is well documented in “Amercias War On Drugs” (search youtube for it)
The Chicago punks seem intent on defying any hardcore conventions, focusing instead on communicating pure disgust for the rotting world around them. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jul 1, 2022
